| "Joining Long Island Pet Professionals and attending events, has made a huge impact on me and my company. It has taught me the value of networking with others in the industry and in a fun way too! I have made so many professional and personal contacts through Long Island Pet Professionals I wish I had joined earlier! Nancy does an amazing job of putting together events, including having relevant and interesting speakers at the meetings” Robyn Elman, President In Home Pet Services, Inc. “Long Island Pet Professionals provided an enjoyable evening of dinner, drinks, opportunity and optimism. Nancy took us from online – to in-person. Even with Twitter and Facebook all the rage, it’s refreshing to network face to face. Those I most need to network with where all in the room!” Sheryl Matthys www.LeashesnLovers.com "Long Island Pet Professionals has been a valuable resource in connecting me to other pet industry professionals and helping me find my target customer. Since joining, I have found a web designer to help me update my brand and pet boutiques who host my pet photography events. This network also helps me find my target customers because they know they will find pet businesses through LIPP that are professional and trustworthy. LIPP is like having a PR pro on staff. I’m pleased to be a member." Judy McCleery ThePuparazzi.net “Interesting, fun and informative meetings with friendly, helpful people. Although I’ve been in private business for many, many years -I am somewhat of a newbie to the pet business industry. I’ve learned many valuable things just talking to other members and my business has grown tenfold. And a shout out to Nancy Hassel who single handedly got this whole group started and continues to work tirelessly at it.” Sheryl Furman – My Canine Coach, Inc. www.mycaninecoach.com “I would like to extend a Great Big THANK YOU to L.I. Pet Professionals – For all of their Support, promotion and for attending Long Islands first ‘Bark for Life’ in Riverhead, NY. You helped us raise $20,000 to take a Bite out of cancer.” Kevin McGrady Committee Survivor/Luminaria Chair American Cancer Society |

“I don’t join a lot of “networking” organizations because, frankly, they just don’t appeal to me, but when I saw a group that I had never seen before, with a focus on the pet industry, I eagerly jumped in. Long Island Pet Professionals is that group and it was one of the easiest and best business decisions I have made. There are too many benefits to mention in a short testimonial so I will just touch on a few things. The monthly meetings are one of my favorite things to do. I get to meet and talk with others in the pet industry that have different businesses as well as those who are in the same business as me. The speakers are very informative and as much as I think I know, I learn something at every event that helps me in my business. Following some of the steps outlined in the Social Media and Public Relations seminars given by founder Nancy Hassel and others, within about the last year, I have been able to get myself featured in print in such publications as Newsday(three times), featured in Long Island Business News, Pet Product News International and online on Dog411.net, The DogFiles.com, and was chosen one of the Top 25 Pet People of 2010 on NBC Universal’s Petside.com along with people such as Oprah, Ellen DeGeneres, Betty White and others you may know. I have also been invited to write a column on several different blogs and web sites. Again, this was a direct result of my joining LI Pet Professionals and following through on what I was taught at the seminars. Of course the buffet dinners at the monthly meetings are always delicious. The weekly newsletters with all the upcoming pet events are quite informative and I use the information, both, to enjoy my time off and to make some business connections. Different members sponsor the newsletter each week and when I do, it pays off with increased business opportunities. The listing on the web site directory is a benefit as it shows up in Google searches. Nancy regularly emails the members about vendor and PR opportunities, and often negotiates member discounts for us – in essence, doing all the footwork so I don’t have to. For anyone who is thinking about joining this wonderful group, I say, just do it! It was easily the best money I ever spent!” www.PetsPhotography.com |
Not only because the people are extremely friendly, but because we are able to discover solutions together on increasing revenues for our businesses, gain higher visibility within the pet community, and develop cross promotional events that benefit multiple organizations.” Michael Ayalon, CEO Petwebdesigner.com |
“LI Pet Professionals is a wonderful way to meet other people in the field. There is such a need for it! Thanks for taking the initiative!” Beverly Poppell Pet Safe Coalition |
best business decisions to date. Since joining this past May 2011, we have been mentioned in Newsday and were featured in a national magazine. It seems like every time we turn around another business opportunity is being presented to us and we could not be happier. Coming from a different industry all together the warmth and support that LIPP members have for one another is refreshing and comforting. This group is more like a team that continually helps and supports one another without competition. We are thrilled to be part of such a great group of people and we owe it all to Nancy."
